I began my interest in photography around the age of fifteen, where I found myself scouring the internet for images that had that ‘wow’ factor and visually popped.
I was fascinated with these images, and never saw myself producing anything like them, never having a creative background and abysmal at painting and drawing. I simply enjoyed from afar.
Around two years later I stumbled across photo manipulations which I found so interesting, and really wanted to try myself. I purchased a small handheld digital camera and set off, taking pictures of everything and everything and heavily editing my images as many amateurs do.
I applied to university in 2010 with only a portfolio on my back and with a bit of luck I obtained a place to begin studying in 2011 at the University of Hertfordshire.
Upon obtaining a place, I purchased a Canon EOS 1000D and began experimenting with the wonders of the DSLR. I spent that summer teaching myself every aspect of photography that I could find, and still to this day I teach myself any new areas that I find.
